Legal translations

Alltrad has been a service provider to the Court of Justice of the European Communities since 1994, translating judgements of the Court and opinions of the Advocates General from English, French, German and Spanish into Italian under yearly contracts. In December 2009, Alltrad was awarded new four-year framework contracts, assigned on the basis of a negotiated procedure, for the supply of translations into these four languages and also into Polish and Rumanian.

These texts are translated exclusively by translators with a degree in law, in strict compliance with the rules established by the Court of Justice.

Pages translated: approx. 30,000 between 1994 and 2005 and more than 13,000 from 2006 to 2009.

In cooperating with the European Commission, we have also acquired a certain level of experience in the legal environment, translating for example various competition policy reports from English and French into Italian and a number of decisions regarding State aid from English and German to Italian. Following a tender, a sector framework contract for the translation of legal texts from English to Italian, renewable for four years, has recently come into force.

Alltrad regularly undertakes work for law firms and courts, translating company deeds, powers of attorney, summonses, appeals, contracts, dealing with international formalities, including sworn and certified translations, and also documents concerning international letters rogatory
