The translation of Community Trademarks on behalf of the Translation Centre for the bodies of the European Union can be considered one of the most significant and demanding projects in which Alltrad has participated in view the technical expertise acquired in the field of industrial property, the organisational commitment involved and the use of CAT tools. The trademarks are published by the OHIM, the European Agency responsible for the registration of trademarks, designs and models valid in all the 27 countries of the EU.
On September 1 2011 Alltrad was awarded a new contract, renewable for four years, for the translation into Italian of weekly batches of trademarks from 7 official European languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Danish. We thus achieved an important goal, as this contract is the fourth one for the translation of EU trademarks, after the framework contracts awarded to Alltrad covering the periods 1997-2002, 2002-2007 and 2007-2011, the latter including the languages of the new Members States that joined the European Union in 2004 and 2007. Just from 2003 to September 2011 we translated over 65,000 pages.
